Jaadil (9/2) got off the mark in great style when making all in the hands of Sam Ewing to win the William Hill Each Way Extra Challenge Series Handicap Hurdle at Cork.

Runner-up on her previous start at Navan, the Kessaar filly was pressed three out but raced clear on the run to the second-last and stayed on strongly to beat Onefortheditch by eight and a half lengths.

Davy Fitzgerald, who trains the winner for the An Bothareen Dubh Syndicate, said: "That was a long time coming and it is more relief than anything. I thought she'd do that in Bellewstown but she is still learning her trade and we were probably riding her wrong.

"She is out of a Dark Angel mare and at the start, I thought she had loads of boot and that she wouldn't stay, but everyone who rides her tells me she wants a trip. We might chance her at Limerick next Saturday.

"I go back a long time with John McMahon (owner, from Ballybunion) and his son Jack, as I rode my pony races for John."
