Ted Durcan is to have his foot examined further following a freak injury in the stalls at Newmarket yesterday.

Durcan was hurt when his mount Windy Citi was unruly in the stalls for division one of the seven-furlong maiden for two-year-old fillies.

Although he rode in division two half-an-hour later the injury was worse than first thought so he was taken to hospital in one of the two on-course ambulances which caused racing to be delayed for 25 minutes.

"His foot was a bit sore so he went for an X-ray yesterday. That showed up all clear but the physio he saw afterwards still wasn't happy with it, so he's going to have a scan on it tomorrow morning," said his agent David Harrison.

"We'll know more then but hopefully it's just bruising. It's sore for him to walk on at the moment."
