John O'Connor killed in road crash The point-to-point community are in mourning today following the very sad news of the death of rider John O'Connor. O'Connor, a popular jockey on the southern circuit riding six winners last season. was killed after his car was in collision with a bus on the Killarney road near Mallow yesterday evening. Tributes have been flowing in from friends and colleagues with Derek O'Connor saying, "It's very sad news of the passing of a young and talented jockey. RIP John O Connor". Current champion Jamie Codd also said on twitter, "Sad day for our @irishp2p community to lose one of our own #RIPJohnOConnor #TooYoung"
