Cheltenian, a former Cheltenham Bumper winner, found disappointingly little once again. Geraghty said: "He was workmanlike at the finish but he's got so much scope. He made up five lengths at one or two, but the odd time he scares himself and because of that he's just not travelling as well in his races. "We'll do a bit of work on him at home and we'll get him there, though. He was a good bit fitter today than at Ascot but because this is a flatter track there's more pressure on the jumping, it tests it early." Paddy Power were not impressed and pushed him out to 12-1 from 10s for the Arkle. Nicky Richards has his best string for some time and Glingerburn can be added to the list of promising horses after maintaining his unbeaten record over timber in the Cash Out On The Betdaq App 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle. A winner at the track in November from a good yardstick, he was sent off the 11-4 second-favourite under Brian Harding. When he hit the last flight it appeared the advantage was with the favourite Some Buckle, but Glingerburn showed a likeable attitude to get back up and win by a short head. Richards said: "He's a nice horse, he's just learning the job. I nearly put him away because I didn't think he'd get his ground, but when I saw good ground here I thought we'd have a go. I thought he was the biggest certainty ever on his debut in a bumper, but Clever Cookie beat him. "We might take him to the Morebattle at Kelso on February 14 next and then there's a Grade Two back at Kelso if that goes well."
