There is both Flat and National Hunt Irish racing today with the jumpers in action at Downpatrick this afternoon while a new season commences under the lights at Dundalk this evening.

Willie Mullins sends just two runners to the northern venue with Quarry Tiepy the only ride on the card for Paul Townend in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase at 4.26.

The champion trainer is also represented by Moja Dama third on debut at Kilbeggan last month, in the J Murdoch Contracts INH Flat Race at 5.35.

The seven-race card gets underway at 2.11 and the going is currently described as yielding. It is raining this morning with the possibility of approximately 4mm today.

Champion Flat trainer Aidan O’Brien also sends out just two runners today and may top and tail the eight-race Dundalk card for a double. First Approach bids to add to a Naas maiden win earlier this year in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race at 4.50, while Wayne Lordan is also aboard newcomer Edward Hamilton in the concluding maiden over an extended 1m2f.
