Junior Team Leave Nothing To Chance Connections of leading Coral-Eclipse fancy David Junior have purchased Royal Alchemist in the lead-up to the race to ensure a fast pace.Brian Meehan, David Junior's trainer, blamed a lack of pace for the four-year-old's defeat to Ouija Board at Royal Ascot and the colt's owners have moved to ensure that it will not be their undoing again. On the same day at the Royal meeting, Royal Alchemist forced the pace in the Group 2 Windsor Forest Stakes and finished a respectable three and three-quarter lengths third to Soviet Song.Royal Alchemist will run in the second colours of Roldvale Ltd and Gold Group International, a company owned by David Sullivan. Sullivan paid an undisclosed sum to The Ridgeway Partnership for the filly, who had been in training with Mark Usher.'Royal Alchemist is a talented filly in her own right with Group-placed form that definitely justifies her place in the Eclipse,' said Meehan.'She's a natural front-runner, as her recent record shows. If she should assist David Junior then so be it. But I don't think he needs it.'Royal Alchemist is a big, strong filly who looks the type to win more races,' Meehan told the Racing Post.'I'm delighted to have her in the yard, and if I can do half as well with her as Mark Usher did then I'll be thrilled.'(C) PA Sport
