Katiyra Back up in Grade

John Oxx is planning to step Katiyra back up in grade after she got off the mark for the season in the Listed Hurry Harriet Stakes at Gowran Park on Wednesday night.

The daughter of Peintre Celebre chased home the smart Carribean Sunset on her seasonal return and ran a mighty race to finish third in the Juddmonte Oaks at Epsom on just her third career start.

Oxx said: "We were very happy with her at Gowran and it was a bit of a relief as the ground was very heavy and it was a bit of a decision to make to actually run her."

He added: "She put in a good show and moved well so we will probably run her in the Blandford Stakes at the Curragh next (September 13).

"That is a Group Two over a mile and a quarter and we're not in any rush to run her over a mile and a half again."
