Keane eager to get to work on Westover Colin Keane has come in for the ride on Westover, second favourite for Saturday’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh. The champion jockey is very much looking forward to the plum ride and hopes that Ralph Beckett’s charge can carry his good form forward from Epsom. He said: "It's a lovely ride and I'm very thankful to Juddmonte (owner) for putting me up. Obviously, it is unfortunate for Rob Hornby, but it is a brilliant spare to pick up. "When you look back at the replay, he was the horse that caught your eye the way he finished. Usually the Epsom form holds up in the Curragh. A more galloping track might even suit him. "It looks like we are going to have lovely ground for the weekend and he looks like a very straightforward horse. I'm very much looking forward to it." Westover won a Group 3 Classic Trial at Sandown under Hornby before the pair finished third in the Epsom Derby behind Sir Michael Stoute's Desert Crown. Aidan O'Brien's Tuesday, who was supplemented for the Irish Derby after landing the Epsom Oaks, currently heads the market for tomorrow's showpiece.
