Keane eyes Ballybrit for Beauparc The extended 1m4f handicap in Gowran Park was decimated with non runners (11) leaving eight horses to go to post and it was Beauparc who took the honours in good style. She raced on the heels of the leaders approaching the straight and travelled well to lead with more than two furlongs to go. There was still racing to be done as Lough Leane soon threw down his challenge, however, Beauparc was in a lovely stride and rolled home in fine fashion as she asserted in the closing stages. The 4/1 chance delivered by three lengths for Jack Kearney from Preparations (15/2) who got up for second by a head over Lough Leane (4/1). Gerry Keane said: “When she’s right, she’s a nice filly. “The last (day) she ran disappointingly. I thought she might be in season, but we found nothing wrong. Maybe the track in Sligo just didn’t suit her and they maybe just over watered the ground. “She’s done her job today anyway, that’s three she’s won now. “She’ll probably be rated in the 80s now. The lads would like to go to Galway so that’ll probably be the next stop. “She probably won’t run before that and she seems to run better fresh. She might take her chance in the mile and a-half premier handicap there.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
