Noel Kelly is considering Down Royal and Cheltenham for upwardly-mobile Cave Court.

The six-year-old gelding has really found his stride in running up a four-timer since the start of August.

His winning spree began in an amateur jockeys' handicap hurdle at Perth before following up a month later over flights in Down Royal. September proved to be a lucrative month for the son of Court Cave who then annexed handicap chases at Listowel and Clonmel.

Co Derry trainer Kelly said: "We are talking about going to the Cheltenham November meeting for a novice or go to the two-day meeting in Down Royal.

"There's two miles the first day and three miles the second day (in Down Royal).

"I think he needs three miles, but I wouldn't rule out two miles either because he has a bit of toe about him.

"He wouldn't want deep ground, but we have had enough rain the last three months (in the north) so it can't keep going! We might be due a wee bit of better ground.

"I would be tilting towards Down Royal myself and I would be aiming towards the three-mile race chase, the 0-123. There were seven runners in it last year, so hopefully there can't be many more this year.

"If he didn't go there, he might go to the November meeting in Cheltenham. It can get bottomless there in November, though.

"We have plenty of options - there is a meeting in Clonmel next month, a 0-116.

"I'll let Oran (McGill) stay on him - a good local lad."

Amateur McGill has been on board for three of the four victories including when the duo were successful by 13 lengths in Clonmel.
