Kerry National the target for Black Scorpion Trainer Eric McNamara hopes to have Black Scorpion back on the track next month ahead of a likely tilt at the Kerry National at Listowel. The eight-year-old was an impressive winner at last year's Harvest Festival before going on to finish third when favourite for the Munster National at Limerick in October. He failed to complete on his next couple of starts - falling in the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas before pulling up at the Dublin Racing Festival - and he has not been seen on a racecourse since the latter of those efforts in February. However, Black Scorpion is closing in on a return. McNamara said: "Black Scorpion won't be back in time for Galway this week. He'll go to Killarney next month and then on to Listowel for the Kerry National. That's the plan at the moment."
