St Leger hero Kew Gardens is one of five Ballydoyle possibles among 23 in the Roaring Lion Jockey Club Stakes at the Newmarket Guineas meeting.

Kew Gardens went on to finish seventh in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and looks set to be a leading player in all the big middle-distance races this season.

Flag Of Honour, Cypress Creek, Hunting Horn and Southern France complete the Ballydoyle quintet entered on May 4.

Salouen could make his seasonal debut in the race.

Sylvester Kirk’s stable star fell agonisingly short in a couple of Group Ones last term, touched off by Cracksman in the Coronation Cup and reeled in by Waldgeist in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud.

He massively outran his 80-1 odds in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe when sixth of 19 behind Enable — and ended his year in Hong Kong in December, where he finished down the field in the Vase.

“Salouen is in great form, and there is a good chance he will make his 2019 debut in the Jockey Club Stakes — it will either be there or the Buckhounds Stakes at Ascot a week later,” said Kirk.

“He found the ground a bit fast and the track a bit sharp when he went to Hong Kong in December, but he’s wintered well and I’m delighted with him.”

John Gosden has entered Wissahickon, Coronet and Weekender — with Young Rascal, Defoe and Red Verdon all in the mix as well.
