Khyber to be upped in trip Nigel Twiston-Davies will step Khyber Kim up in trip in future after he could only finish ninth in Tuesday's Champion Hurdle. Now a nine-year-old, he enjoyed a great time of things last season, winning the Greatwood Hurdle, the International and the Aintree Hurdle. He also finished second to Binocular in the Champion Hurdle, but this campaign has not gone so smoothly. He did not reappear until the rearranged Christmas Hurdle at Kempton in January when he was well beaten and cut no ice behind Hurricane Fly last week. Having won over two and a half miles at Aintree last spring, he will head for a repeat win in Liverpool and stick to similar trips in future. "Khyber Kim is great, but I think it's the time to go over longer distances now," said Twiston-Davies. "He'll go to Aintree next for the two-and-a-half-mile race he won last year and next season those are the sort of trips we'll stick to."
