A trip to Killarney's August Festival is next on the agenda for Philip Fenton's Galway hero Desertmore Stream.

It took a while for the point-to-point winner and talented bumper performer to open his account over hurdles, but he has now struck three times since early April, with last week's Guinness Novice Hurdle victory suggesting he remains on an upward curve.

Fenton is now considering whether to stick to novice company in County Kerry later this month or go down the handicap route.

He said: "He's come out of Galway in good shape and he'll probably go to Killarney, all being well.

"Whether he'll run in a handicap or a novice next time, we'll see, but we're very pleased with the horse."
