Killarney on but Ballinrobe called off

This evening's meeting at Killarney has passed an early-morning inspection and will go ahead as scheduled.

Although Thursday's fixture was abandoned due to waterlogging, conditions at the County Kerry circuit have improved.

Cliff Noone, Turf Club press officer, said: "Everything is fine as they had a dry night.

"The ground is soft for the National Hunt races, and soft to heavy for the Flat races."

Ballinrobe, however, will not race on Sunday. A track inspection this morning found the course unfit for racing due to waterlogging.

Noone said: "There was no way they could have raced.

"It's heavily waterlogged and, with the forecast rain, there was no point in fooling around.

"The course is simply not raceable - and will not be in time for Sunday."
