King earns praise from Martin after Day Trader's win The easy-to-back Day Trader was a snug winner of the colts and geldings maiden hurdle over two miles in Listowel. Daniel King brought him to challenge Penny Express and Sam Ewing into the straight and the pursuer travelled much the better in a close second jumping the last. He landed in the lead and Daniel king merely had to nudge him out to win by two and a-quarter lengths at 7/2 having opened at 9/4. Runner-up Penny Express went off at 9/2 and he was 12 lengths clear of Annilogs Force (50/1). Day Trader had some useful winning form on the Flat in France and was runner-up on hurdle debut at Down Royal before disappointing six days later in Killarney. Tony Martin said: "Myself and the owner got stopped at the gate (on the infield) before the race, but fortunately got in in time to get our picture taken with the horse. "The horse was a bit keen and free in the north (Down Royal), was off-and-on the bridle at Killarney whereas today he was back to himself and carried him everywhere. Dan was excellent on him, I think he is underrated and is as good as any rider riding in the country." Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
