Star miler Kingman is set to test his credentials across the Channel in next weekend's Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville.

The Irish 2,000 Guineas hero further bolstered his profile when following up his St James's Palace Stakes success with a clear-cut victory over the year-older Toronado in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

The John Gosden-trained colt will go in search of his fourth Group One win on the bounce, again over a mile.

Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, said: "The way he's come out of his Goodwood race is very encouraging and we just want him to remain in good form until next weekend.

"Provided he does that, we are very much very looking forward to bringing him to Deauville for the Marois."
