Kingsfort reported well after National success Kevin Prendergast today confirmed that Kingsfort will not run again this season after stretching his 100% record to two with victory in the National Stakes at the Curragh. The War Chant colt made the leap from maiden to Group One company with a game neck verdict over Chabal on Saturday. "He's come out of the race well, couldn't be better," said Prendergast. "He did it well. There wasn't much pace in the race so he had to be handy. He's better off being further back, but you can't have everything. "He's got the money, he's a Group One winner so you can't take that away from him. "That's his lot, he's done his bit for this season, so we'll leave him for next season. "He'll be in both 2000 Guineas, the English and the Irish. We'll monitor it and see how we go. "He'll probably have a prep race, either in the Guineas Trial at Leopardstown or the Tetrarch Stakes at the Curragh."
