Kinsella eyes Group glory with Vivienne

Donal Kinsella is hoping for Group success with Vivacious Vivienne after the mare made Fame And Glory work hard in the Saval Beg at Leopardstown yesterday.

The daughter of Dubai Destination looked up against it in the Listed event yesterday when she was sent off a 50/1 shot.

But she performed above herself, making the odds-on favourite pull out all the stops in the 1m6f event.

Kinsella's charge came into the race with a rating of 97, almost two stone below her illustrious rival, and the Dunleer handler expects her to get a significant rise.

“We're very happy with her. Our filly is improving all the time and is a stone better than last year,” said Kinsella.

“We'll look for a Group race now as I think Mr O'Gorman (handicapper) will have her pretty well tied down now.

“There is the Noblesse Stakes at Cork in a couple of weeks time. We might have to supplement her for that but it's on the horizon at the moment.

“She's a marvellous filly to train. She's honest and decent and never gives a days trouble – just so long as you leave her alone when she's at the feed pot!

“She has black type now but it would be lovely to win a Group race with her.

“Her most effective trip is a mile-and-a-half on nice ground. She tracked a good horse (in Fame And Glory) on Saturday and he took her along and brought her into the race at the right time.

“She's very honest and has won a couple of nice handicaps for me, including one on Champion Stakes day at Leopardstown last year.”
