Koktail Divin put in a thoroughly professional performance to get off the mark over flights in the Leopardstown Members Maiden Hurdle over two and a-half miles.

The 8/11 favourite brought a strong level of form to this maiden having landed two bumpers in his native France before being placed in two quality maiden hurdles at this track and in Fairyhouse.

He raced handily for Rachael Blackmore and jumped into the lead from Champagne Kid two out.

The son of Masked Marvel began to stretch away before the final flight and the job was sealed when he popped it.

He wasn't perturbed in winning by six lengths from Champagne Kid (7/1) with Arabian Diamond under a returning Jack Kennedy, a further two and a-quarter lengths back in third at 5/1.

Henry de Bromhead said: "I’m delighted with that. He had a lovely run at Christmas, but I probably messed up when we were under the weather in January.

“I dropped back in trip, wrongly. I was always going for another race and then he wasn’t eligible. It’s lovely to see him go and do that today.

“I made a mistake, got it wrong, and as everyone knows we weren’t flying at the time.

“I’m delighted for the Maloneys, Barry and Aileen are here, so it’s great.

“I’d say we’ll aim him at Aintree now.”

He holds an entry in the Turners Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham but de Bromhead added: “We won’t do that, we made that decision the other day. It’s nice now that he’s won a lovely race, and he was impressive there.

“We’ll have a look at Aintree, there are some nice races there for him.”

On the Maloney horses that he has for Cheltenham, he said: “Workahead will go for the Supreme. He seems really good, he worked well the other day and I’m delighted with him.

“His form has worked out really well, obviously.

“Monty’s (Star) in the Gold Cup. We are only getting there now, I’d say he needed the Irish Gold Cup again and he’ll step forward for that as well.

“We’ll see where we are then against Galopin (Des Champs). He’s obviously very hard to beat, but I’m hoping we’d hit the frame.

“Life In The Park has probably lost his form a bit but he’s showing signs he’s coming back to himself now."

On his Cheltenham team as a whole, he added: “We’re pretty much there now, we’ll tip away now. We’re happy with them.

“We worked plenty last week and they were good. We’ll see how happy we are in a couple of weeks!”
