Kutub comes home for Godolphin

Kutub provided Godolphin with their second Group One success of the week in the Grosser Dallmayr-Preis in Munich today.

Noverre won the Champagne Lanson Sussex Stakes at Goodwood on Wednesday for the Dubai team, who were also on the mark with Tempera in a Grade Two event in California on Saturday.

However, it was not all plain sailing for Kutub in the 10-furlong contest, who was under pressure in mid-division before finding his stride and asserting over a furlong out to score by four lengths from Krombacher.

Kutub, opening his seasonal account at the fourth attempt, comprehensively turned the tables on Paolini. The latter was a four-length third.

Paolini had beaten Kutub by a length and a half in Rome in May when the ground was officially riding good whereas it was riding soft here.

Kutub was a 16-10 shot on the German Tote.
