Kylecrue still waits on nine Connections of Sunday winner Kylecrue will wait until Tuesday morning before finding out whether their gelding will get a chance to run in Wednesday's Grade A Guinness Kerry National. The John Ryan trained gelding followed up last year's win of the Kerry Group Handicap Chase with another success in the race on Sunday and Ryan subsequently stated his intention to run again on Wednesday, despite being number nine on the ballot for the showpiece race. Kylecrue had been issued a weight of 8st13lbs for the Kerry National and while his latest winning penalty of 8lbs would in theory rise him to 9st7lbs and possibly to number one on the ballot, rules state any such penalties do not improve a horse's placing in the ballot once the final forfeit stage has been passed. Were Kylecrue to have won on Friday (before the final forfeit stage), his weight and ballot would have been revised. Alelchi Inois, rated 161, has top weight for the E175,000 contest. By Tom Weekes
