Kyniska set for belated return

Kyniska's belated seasonal reappearance has been again put back a few more days - but trainer Tracey Collins expects to have her smart filly out by the end of the week.

The Curragh stable's poor form has been advanced as the reason the daughter of Choisir has not been seen since last September, when she was second in the Group Three C.L. Weld Park Stakes.

A winner of a Naas maiden on her debut, Kyniska's first entry is in the Mourne Handicap at Dundalk on Friday.

"She was going to run at the Curragh on Sunday but it was abandoned," said Collins.

"She will either run at Dundalk or at Leopardstown on Sunday, where they are restaging some of the Curragh races.

"The horses have not been well this season, so we gave her plenty of time to strengthen up.

"She's a filly for this time of year anyway - she started off quite late last season too."
