Ridden by Darragh O'Keeffe, La Cote Fleurie (10/3) made it three wins from four starts when taking Kilbeggan's Bretland Construction Novice Hurdle over two miles, three furlongs.

Previously successful in a bumper and maiden hurdle, the daughter of Walzertakt led between the final two flights and stayed on well to account for Mino Des Mottes by a length and a half.

Robbie Power, representing the winning trainer Henry De Bromhead, said “It was a good performance, we’re delighted with that.

“She stepped forward from her maiden, she won her maiden over two-and-a-half in Limerick.

“I thought there was plenty of depth to the race this evening. They went a proper gallop all the way, she settled in well, and jumped super.

“I love the way she quickened off the bend, down to the last. She’s a nice filly.

“She’s not that big but she jumps really well, and she handles that bit of ease in the ground as well.

“I’m delighted for Nicola (Coppez — sister of owner Peter Fitzgerald) and everyone involved.

“We’ll see what options there are for her, but she’s entitled to take the next step forward.”
