Ladbrokes pay out early on Hanagan

LADBROKES have decided to pay punters out early who backed Paul Hanagan to be Champion Flat jockey.

With the season drawing to a close the firm believe last year's champion has an unassailable lead over rival Silvestre de Sousa.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said: "We did this last year and went on to endure some pretty worrying times as the race to the finish was closer than we'd have liked.

"Once again we feel Hanagan has enough of a lead to allow punters who have backed him to relax and collect their money early. If De Sousa hauls him back we'll take it on the chin."

Hanagan has already been installed at 5/2 to win the 2012 Flat Jockeys' Championship with Ladbrokes.

"Hanagan seems to be going from strength to strength but there are sure to be some major cards played before the start of next season which may change the landscape" said Williams.
