Lady folds as Eastern toughs it out The huge Ladies' Day crowd were treated to a Frankie Dettori flying dismount after Eastern Aria (5-1) proved too tough for Rumoush to pass in the DFS Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster. John Oxx's Roses For The Lady (Fran Berry) faded to finish sixth. Mark Johnston's four-year-old had won a Group Three at Goodwood and subsequently run well in France and could be spotted travelling ominously well under the Italian. Rumoush went with her when she kicked clear and looked about to gain the upper hand but try as she might, Marcus Tregoning's filly could not get past and went down by a length. The 2-1 favourite Meeznah was placed yet again but was a slightly one-paced third. Johnston's wife Deirdre said: "She's just an absolute star. She won seven times last year and although she had a slow start to this season she's going from strength to strength now. "She broke the track record at Goodwood so I told Frankie to let them go if they were going too fast and take his time. He's given her a peach of a ride. "We'll get her home and mull over the options but she's in the Canadian International - she was fourth in the EP Taylor over 10 furlongs last year so a mile and a half round there might be ideal." Dettori added "You know when somebody comes to you they are going to keep finding when you are on a Mark Johnston horse. She's a lovely filly and has improved all year." Richard Hills offered no excuse for Rumoush's defeat, adding: "The winner has just outstayed us." Meeznah's trainer David Lanigan felt his filly may have been a shade unlucky. He said: "We were a little bit short of room and the winner had first run on us. "She's run another good race and we have a couple of engagements in France but we will see how she is after this."
