Lailani added to Irish Oaks

A total of 15 fillies, including lone supplementary entry Lailani from Ed Dunlop`s Newmarket stable, have accepted for Sunday`s #225,000 Kildangan Stud Irish Oaks at the Curragh.

Aidan O`Brien`s dual Classic winner Imagine has lost the race against time to be fit for the big race and joins the Queen`s Flight of Fancy, who chased Imagine home in the Vodafone Oaks, in having to miss the race because of setbacks.

However the Epsom form is represented by the third and fourth, Relish the Thought from the Barry Hills stable and Ed Dunlop`s Mot Juste, while Michael Bell has left in his Italian Oaks winner Zanzibar.

Mot Juste`s stablemate, Lailani, was supplemented by today`s noon deadline at a cost of #28,000 by Dunlop on behalf of Sheikh Maktoum Al Maktoum after the filly won her last four starts on the trot.

Champion trainer Aidan O`Brien is responsible for no less than six of the 15 remaining in the field, with his team headed by the French 1000 Guineas winner Rose Gypsy and also including last year`s Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Sequoyah.

Time Away, third in the French Oaks after winning the Musidora Stakes at York for Ed Dunlop`s father, John, and Rebelline for local trainer Kevin Prendergast are other likely contenders for Sunday`s contest.

On Saturday, the #100,000 Goffs International Stakes over a mile and a furlong is the feature event.

The English-based acceptors for this Group Two contest are Slickly (Godolphin), Man O`Mystery (Jeremy Noseda), Distant Music (Barry Hills), as well as the John Hills-trained Crimson Tide and Peaceful Paradise.
