Thursday evening’s Tipperary scorer Land Force is one of five possible runners for Aidan O’Brien in the Arqana July Stakes at Newmarket on Thursday.

Having been beaten just half a length into third place in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, Land Force bounced back to winning ways in the Coolmore Pride Of Dubai Tipperary Stakes and O’Brien immediately nominated next week’s July Stakes as a potential target.

The Ballydoyle handler has also entered North Wind, Sergei Prokofiev, The Irish Rover and Van Beethoven.

The six-furlong contest has attracted 21 juveniles in total.

Leading hopes for the home team include Martyn Meade’s Coventry Stakes runner-up Advertise and Richard Hannon’s unbeaten colt Urban Icon.

Thursday’s Newmarket card gets under way with the Group Three Bahrain Trophy, which has long been considered a leading trial for the St Leger.

O’Brien is again mob-handed, with a six-strong Ballydoyle squad headed by Giuseppe Garibaldi.

Also among 16 entries at the six-day stage are Tim Easterby’s Wells Farhh Go and Charlie Appleby’s course winner Loxley.
