Harry Kelly is eyeing up a crack at the Liam Healy Memorial Lartigue Hurdle with Louiescall at the Listowel Festival next month after going down narrowly at Tramore yesterday evening.

The dual-purpose gelding has been in good form on the Flat this summer winning the Tote Fegentri World Championship (Q.R.) Handicap over 1m7f at Leopardstown before reverting to hurdles at Tramore.

A mistake at the final flight proved costly as the son of Soldier’s Call was pegged back close home by the odds-on Tatateo and it will be interesting to see what handicap mark he gets after this third hurdle start.

“He missed the last and dragged his hind legs through it. Cian (Quirke) thought he had it and that he had plenty left, but that's not taking away from the winner either,” said Kelly.

“He is a nice horse, and we might go for the Lartigue with him.”
