Lavery set for spell on the sidelines

Declan Lavery will be out of action for up to two months following a fall from Tillahow at Gowran on Saturday.

The Mouse Morris trained gelding slipped up entering the straight in the race won by Heaney causing Lavery to injure his mid-thoracic bone.

Speaking today Turf Club chief medical officer Dr Adrian McGoldrick, said: "Declan was sent to St Luke's in Kilkenny but was then transferred to Ardkeen.

"He has injured his mid thoracic bone and will be in spinal support for up to eight weeks."
