Layla Joan gone at the first as Geraghty wins The well-backed Mayfair Music stepped up on her debut success over jumps to take the William Hill - Bet On the Move Mares' Novice Hurdle at Doncaster. Sent off the 15-8 favourite, Nicky Henderson's charge swept to victory by four and a half lengths from Cannon Fodder after her task had been made easier when her main market rival Layla Joan unseated Paul Carberry at the first flight. "She won nicely in Wincanton and learnt a lot. Although her jumping was a little sketchy early, she was very good over the last four," said winning jockey Barry Geraghty. "She liked this ground and will probably go chasing next year. "We thought she had a chance and she did it well."
