Leahy scores again on Party Adam Leahy and Party President struck again, at Clonmel this evening, when running out a convincing winner of the Thank You To Dr John Downey Handicap Hurdle. Leahy, who owns the Tony Mullins-trained gelding, suffered a broken hip when his charge reared over in the parade ring at Naas back in December. He has repaid him with two victories now though, following up on his win at the same Kildare venue a fortnight ago. The 9/2 shot came to dispute three out today and had a narrow lead turning for home. He galloped on strongly to assert over the last and post a two-length win over, the staying on, Old Kenmare. Mullins said:- “He’s a little bit excitable and has a lot of growing up to do but is an improving horse. “Maybe we’ll look at Killarney or let him off for a month as he’s done a lot in a short time. “I’d be looking forward to him as a chaser. This lad jumps a fence well.” (Quotes by Alan Magee)
