Lee records biggest Flat win on Maarek Former top National Hunt jockey Graham Lee recorded his first Group race victory since switching his attention to the Flat this year when taking the Betfred Mobile Lotto Chipchase Stakes aboard the David Nagle-trained Maarek at Newcastle this afternoon. The five-year-old son of Pivotal overcame trouble in running to take the Group 3 event by two lengths. The well-backed 11/4 joint favourite had anything but a clear passage at the two furlong pole but once in the clear made stealthy headway to reel-in leader Boastful (25/1) and bound clear in some style. Regal Parade was a further three lengths away in third.
