Review leopardstown 16th Aug

< Duntle showed soft ground holds no fears when finishing strongly to land the feature race on Leopardstown's card, the Group Three Desmond Stakes.

Settled off the pace in the early stages, the 5-2 second favourite moved stylighly into contention on the turn for home.< Ballybacka Lady hit the front over a furlong out, but Duntle got upsides at the furlong pole and ran on well to score by three-quarters of a length, giving trainer David Wachman and jockey Wayne Lordan a double on the card.

Wachman and Lordan sparked off their brace when Galileo Rock (8-1) impressively landed the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Colts And Geldings) Maiden.

The half-brother to Saddler's Rock appeared to be toiling on the home turn, but picked up in hugely impressive fashion, slicing through the field before careering away to beat Hall Of Mirrors who hung badly in the straight, by seven lengths.< What Style looked a filly of real promise when landing the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.< Snow Queen looked to have got the upper hand when taking the lead over a furlong out, but John Oxx's 5-1 chance found plenty for Niall McCullagh's urgings and scored by half a length, with fellow newcomer Bracing Breeze catching the eye when finishing well for third.

Aidan and Joseph O'Brien were forced to settle for second with Snow Queen, but they soon went one better as Circle (5/1) opened her account at the fifth attempt in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.

In command from a long way out, O'Brien junior was able to ease down on the winner as she beat Mona Brown by three-quarters of a length.

Ger Lyons' Piri Wango (11-4 favourite) showed tremendous battling qualities to land the "Saw Doctors" Handicap under Emmet Mcnamara, while Danny Benson squeezed up the far rail on Bonnie Acclamation (20-1) to land the Follow Leopardstown On Facebook Handicap.
