< Shreyas emerged top of the pile in a pulsating renewal of the Nijinsky Stakes at Leopardstown.

Trained by Jim Bolger and ridden by Kevin Manning, the four-year-old filly had just enough in reserve to defeat the onrushing Fiery Lad by a short head.

Bolger said: "That's the end of Listed races for her and she'll step up to Group company now, and possibly step up in distance as well.

"She'll probably run next in a fillies' handicap over seven furlongs on Derby weekend at the Curragh," said Hayden.

Dermot Weld's Mr Topaz also came up trumps in the Foxrock Handicap.

Pat Smullen's mount showed plenty of resilience to repel Final Approach for a neck success.

Victorious handler Paddy Meany said: "He ran well here the last day when he finished second, so we were just hoping he'd go one better and he duly obliged.

"We have no set plans & ndash; it's hard enough to find three-mile hurdle races & ndash; but we'll keep him over hurdles for the time being and in time we will go chasing with him."

Paul Nolan had earlier got off to a flying start when the versatile Cuan Na Grai won the Tipperary Festival 18th & 19th July Hurdle.
