Leopardstown meeting in doubt Leopardstown officials are growing increasingly concerned that their four-day Christmas meeting may not start as scheduled on St Stephen's Day. The Foxrock track was hit with significantly more snow yesterday than originally forecast, and the anticipated thaw may now happen later than expected this week. "We've had between four and five inches of snow, which was more than we were told we'd get, and the thaw now looks like coming a bit later than was forecast," said Leopardstown's General Manager Tom Burke this lunchtime. "Originally the thaw was to start on Christmas Eve and improve through Christmas Day but it could be delayed now until the second half of Christmas Day." "We are concerned at the moment about racing going ahead on St Stephen's Day. It is a wait and see situation, and we'll have to take it day by day," added Burke.
