Lexus Likely for Glenfinn

Tom Taaffe is eyeing a tilt at the Lexus Chase for Glenfinn Captain after a good start to the season for the nine-year-old.

Following a winless streak stretching back over two years, the son of Alderbrook scored with any amount in hand on his seasonal reappearance at Clonmel in October.

He then ran out a cosy winner of the Grade Two Clonmel Oil Chase and while Taaffe admits he needs to step up again at Christmas, he feels Glenfinn Captain deserves to take his chance in the Grade One contest.

"I think he'll probably run in the Lexus at Christmas time, all being well, and I'm very happy with him," said the trainer.

"He seems to be going the right way and obviously he is going to have to improve again in the Lexus, but we will see how we go."
