Limerick Christmas Racing festival on Bolger's radar again Trainer Enda Bolger is once again looking forward to the Christmas Racing festival at his local racecourse, Limerick. He says it has been a happy hunting ground for him in recent years and he always tries to have a winner there over the festive season. ”Every Christmas we always try and support our local track, especially the hunter chase on the second day, the Lord Harrington, we always try to have a runner for that,” said the Howardstown House handler. “We’ve been lucky in the big novice chase a few years back with Gilgamboa.” Looking to next week the king of the banks commented: “This year we’re going to have a couple of runners again — it’s a great festival and a great lift for the community around here. “The place is thronged on Stephens’ Day. They have that new race, the Grade One race there. They also have the Tim Duggan race which is worth a lot of money. “It’s a great incentive now as it’s after being changed to the third day. The horses that have been entered in Leopardstown that don’t get a run in the big Paddy Power race can come down and run in the Limerick race. “It’s a brilliant idea on the trainers behalf as well.”
