Limerick Rained Off

Limerick's weekend of racing has been wiped out due to a waterlogged track.

Both Saturday and Sunday's meetings have been cancelled following an 8am inspection this morning.

However, there is still the prospect the two cards may be rearranged at a later date.

'Although the weather was not too bad overnight, the heavy rain yesterday has put the clappers on things,' said Irish Turf Club spokesman Cliff Noone.

'The prospects are not too clever for the next few days either.

'It is now up to Limerick and Horse Racing Ireland to get together to discuss the possibility of rescheduling.'
