Mares take centre stage at Limerick's fixture on Sunday, where valuable black type is up for grabs in two novice events.

The Grade Three Kerry Group EBF Novice Hurdle sees the Willie Mullins-trained French-bred mare Urticaire bid to claim a first Graded win.

She disappointed in her only previous Graded race at Leopardstown over Christmas but ran a cracker when second to stablemate Upsie at Punchestown last month.

Urticaire defeated Katie T to win her maiden hurdle but that rival now comes here on the back of a good recent win. Another winner last time out is The Cookie Jar, but he has not been seen since last December.

Highest-rated runner in the race is the Harry Kelly-trained 130-rated Que Pasa, who herself is without a run since disappointing at Down Royal in November.

The other Graded race on the card is the Grade Two INH Stallion Owners EBF Dawn Run Mares Novice Chase and it sees the in-form Robert Tyner yard in action with stable star Byerley Babe.

The daughter of Beneficial is again partnered by Philip Enright and while beaten at Navan on her latest effort, should be able to win this despite a weight concession.

Baby Shine is the sole British raider in the race for trainer Lucy Wadham and although beaten in a two-horse race at Plumpton last month, was a winner at Towcester and Newbury earlier in the season.

Lisrose was a surprise winner at Thurles last time when beating the consistent Caoimhe's Delight and they renew rivalry, while Backinthere would have claims if reproducing her best form.
