Jamie Spencer has picked up a suspension that will rule him out of the William Hill Lincoln at Newcastle.

The former champion jockey was riding Jeepstar in the Photo Albums From Bonusprint.com Handicap at Southwell when he was adjudged to have used his whip with excessive frequency.

He will be out of action on March 30 and 31.
