LINGFIELD ABANDONED Britain was left without any racing action for the second successive day following the abandonment of the all-weather meeting at Lingfield. The fixture, scheduled at late notice on Thursday due to the cold snap, was called off after an inspection found the course unraceable. The card was due to start at 12.15 but the riders for the opening Angel Nursery Handicap drew the attention of the stewards to the state of the surface when they reached the start. Jockeys Simon Whitworth and Martin Dwyer had an on-the-spot conference with clerk of the course Fergus Cameron, and after 10 minutes the six runners returned to the paddock.Fontwell`s jumps card was also called off this morning.
