Lingfield off but Doncaster finally gets go ahead This afternoon's meeting at Lingfield has been abandoned due to a frozen track, while racing at Doncaster has finally been given the go ahead following a fourth inspection at 11.30am. Officials at Lingfield were left with no choice but to call off the jumps fixture following two morning inspections. Overnight temperatures dropped to minus 5C, and the situation had shown little improvement during the morning. Clerk of the course Neil MacKenzie Ross said: "We've not seen enough this morning to suggest the track will be raceable this afternoon. With only two hours to go before racing, we do not believe it was worth prolonging the agony." Doncaster got the all clear following a fourth course inspection after the threat of frost finally dissipated. Although the track was reported as being "perfectly raceable all morning", the main sticking point was the frozen clumps of turf that had been produced during Friday's meeting. But the situation has now improved sufficiently for clerk of the course Jon Pullin to give the six-race card the go-ahead. He said: "I'm delighted to say that the meeting is on following a fourth inspection. "We've had jockeys, trainers and course representatives out there, and there has been a significant improvement."
