Listener out for the season The Listener, easy winner of the Grade 1 JNwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal earlier this month, will be sidelined for the remiander of the season with a tendon injury. Trainer Nick Mitchell was preparing the grey, a familiar figure on Irish tracks, for the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase on December 6 until a problem was detected with his off-fore. A scan yesterday revealed a minor problem with his tendon and, while enough to sideline the ten-year-old son of Roselier for the remainder of this season, it is hoped he will make a full recovery and be back in training next autumn. The Listener is the winner of nine races including the Lexus, Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup, John Durkan Memorial and JNwine.com Champion Chase all at Grade 1 level.
