Oisin Murphy made just his second appearance at the Listowel Harvest Festival this year.

The English champion jockey had five rides on day three of the Festival but did not land a winner.

Local Hero Eoin McCarthy

It was a remarkable week for Eoin McCarthy whose yard is in Athea, a stone’s throw from Listowel.

McCarthy was the leading trainer across the week, training six winners and beating Willie Mullins to the title.

McCarthy celebrates his sixth winner, Tropical Image in the Guinness Listowel (Mares) Handicap Hurdle with owner Brenda Maguire.

Wootton Bassett’s Legacy Lives On

On the day the death of his legendary sire Wootton Basset’s sad passing was announced, Straight Up made a winning debut on day three of the Listowel Harvest Festival.

Stable representative Chris Armstrong said: "His progeny have engines, minds and have everything. There are obviously more crops to come, but his death is a massive blow to the whole team. To lose your star is a big one and he was the ultimate.”

Danny Mullins Wins The Big Race

Danny Mullins and Willie Mullins took the big race of the week, the Kerry National, with 16-1 shot Spanish Harlem.
