Listowel Thursday crowd and betting figures The attendance of 18,588 on day five of the Listowel Festival was virtually identical to the corresponding meeting 12 months ago. Just 24 more (18,612) racegoers came through the turnstiles on the Thursday of last year's Harvest Festival, while the Tote aggregate also compared quite favourably with the 2010 figure. A large jackpot pool (€72,381) helped swell the Tote aggregate to €287,358, just €378 less than the tally on the same day last year. However figures in the betting ring were not as healthy and followed the trend of earlier this week. The bookmakers turnover of €998,992 was down 15% on the corresponding total of €1,176,561 last year. Alan Magee
