Littmoden And Ahern Acclaimed

Nick Littmoden and Eddie Ahern took top honours after they were crowned champion all-weather trainer and jockey respectively at the fifth Bet Direct Annual All-Weather Awards.

Littmoden sent out 27 winners over the winter and will take home first prize of £15,000, while an additional £7,500 goes to his stable staff.

Ahern, who finished second behind Neil Callan last year, pockets £12,000 after partnering 51 winners.

James Doyle was named the Bet Direct All-Weather Champion Apprentice Jockey, securing a £6,000 prize for his efforts, while Nigel Shields is the leading owner after netting 16 winners and more than £200,000 in prize-money.

Simon Walker took the amateur jockey trophy and Fyodor was named All-Weather Horse of the Season after a vote by readers of the Racing Post.

The William Haggas-trained five-year-old won three times and finished second twice over the winter.
