Jockey Martin Ferris is hoping to return to the track towards the end of March as he slowly recovers from a serious wrist injury sustained at Tramore in early October.

Ferris was riding Wells China in a Beginners Chase at the Co. Waterford track on the 9th October when his mount slipped up on a bend after jumping the sixth last fence. The horse was subsequently put down.

"There were 11 breaks in my wrist and the nerve was severed. It has been a very slow recovery and I am still not able to make a fist." said the rider.

"I am getting Physiotherapy three times a week and being realistic it will be the end of March or early April before I expect to be back riding."
