Lordan On The Ball as he doubles up Laura Hourigan-trained She's On The Ball landed Cork's Follow Us On X Handicap over seven furlongs at odds of 7/1 this evening. Breaking from stall five, Wayne Lordan managed to hold his prominent position and gradually manoeuvre his mount toward the stands side. The Novum Racing Club's filly was sent for home two furlongs out and stuck to her task quite well to prevail by half a length from the closing Cisterna (11/1). Tariff ran well at the big price of 33/1 for third, beaten a further head. Green Kite (15/2) finished strongly and looked like one to follow after not getting the clearest of runs under top weight. Gear Change Key To Cork Breakthrough "She bunny-hopped out of the stalls the last day and missed the break and had in-running trouble the previous time. To be fair, Robbie Colgan, who couldn't do today's weight, told me to put a tongue-tie on and it helped,” reported winning trainer Laura Hourigan. "Like a lot of my horses, my brother Paul picked her out cheaply in England. He gets them and when they're home, I see if they're good enough to keep going. "I have six on the go at the minute and rather than going to Dundalk with them during the winter, I'm looking forward to the shorter drives to Tipperary (the new all-weather) when it opens."
