Lordan praises Legatissimo handling Wayne Lordan has paid tribute to David Wachman's handling of his star filly Legatissimo as a potential trip at the Breeders' Cup looms. Lordan has stepped in for the sidelined Ryan Moore to win the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood and the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown the last twice. She also won the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and was narrowly beaten in the Oaks at Epsom. The three-time Group One winner could have her next outing in the Filly & Mare Turf in America. "She's been a revelation all year, she's improved and just got stronger through the year, she's never run a bad race," Lordan told At The Races. "Some people said dropping back to a mile was a bad idea but she's a Guineas winner. I t was something that never entered my head and I just felt she was the best filly in the race. She looked like that and she won like that. "David has done a great job keeping her fresh all year, it's hard when the weather is changing and they start to change their coat, but she was very good. "It's unusual to win a Group One like that but she's a top-class filly. "She's won over a mile, a mile and a quarter and she was beaten a short-head over a mile and a half, not too many fillies can do that at that level."
